Endometriosis is basically the development of endometrial tissue outside the uterus in the fallopian tubes or ovary or peritoneum. It affects 10 percent of reproductive-age women. It is mostly seen in women having pelvic pain or infertility.

Medical treatment and surgical removal of the uterus can be suggested in those who do not want a pregnancy.
